December 2007
A Benefit for Dora Crookshanks was Sunday, December 2, 2007, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the VFW in Janesville, Wisconsin.

Dora Crookshanks is a vivacious two year old who loves to play dress-up. Dora was diagnosed with yolk sac carcinoma of the liver. This is a very rare type of cancer. She is only the 4th person in the world to encounter this type of cancer with the last case recorded in 1976. Dora will be going through intensive rounds of chemo for six months until her tumor is small enough for removal. After each weeklong treatment, she will be able to go home for two weeks where she can play with her brothers and sister. Dora's parents will have numerous medical expenses throughout her treatments. Please join us and help support Dora and the Crookshanks family.

October 2007
Orchard View will be holding a Wild West Fall Fest as a Halloween alternative event on October 31st from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This event is a perfect fit for our church's mission to Get Connected with God, each other, and with our community!
The event will include games such as Crazy Cattle Drive, Cowpoke Crawl, Ten-Gallon Toss, and more. Parents can take a break at Cowboy Camp for coffee and snacks. We'll also have Pecos Pete's Pumpkin Patch, where kids will hear a cool and squishy message about God's love, S'mores Central, Craft Corral, and Family Photos.
If you would like to contribute to this event, please contact Deb Adamczyk, the Wild West Fall Fest Director at 295-0351.

The awards were presented at the district conference in Marshfield, Wisconsin, on Monday, April 23, 2007, by District Superintendent Gary Russell. Ron and Joan were honored at the district conference, as they are not able to attend the upcoming General Council in Florida. There they would have been presented with their awards personally by President Benedict. Congratulations and thank you for your many wonderful years of service.
